tumult, 2

Tumult2a

sometimes when you just keep going
when you just keep grappling
when you just flatout refuse to stop,
beautiful shiny
colorful jewels
spill forth
from the very epicenter
of the chaotic
tumult.

the chaotic tumult
is ragged,
rough,
it is seldom
mistaken for
pretty.
or comfortable.
and the shiny treasures
that spew –
they’re nondescript
and indecipherable,
at least at first,
but still
they shine on,
beacons.

Today’s altar is this altar cloth,
dedicated to the treasures that
sometimes spring from
tenacious tumult.

Love the bright orange. Orange is sometimes an overlooked color, don’t you think? But it is so vibrant and energizing.
When I first saw this I thought it was a papaya (sp?). Do papaya’s have anything to do with tumultuous nature of chaos? I’m not sure, but eating the sweet fruit might transport you to a tropical island where the balmy breezes blow across your shoulders as you sit at the edge of the ocean. An entity that can be calm and chaotic at the same time. Gentle waves hitting the shore on top, churning currents below.

I keep thinking of the “riot” that is spring–a riot of color, a riot of flowers, chaos in bloom. Tumult. So: go for it! xo

riot is a key word, that’s for sure, and i like the more positive spin you put on it. it’s felt anything but positive . . . except maybe positively riotous.

just now, this is exactly where i am living my life. it’s not always pretty, but there are, most definitely, jewels.
