so many ways

All things are symbolic by their very nature
and all talk of something beyond themselves.
~Thomas Merton

There are

so many ways

to see

a dahlia,

each of them

in their own

if you ask me.

and i can’t help

but wonder

how different things would be if

we could see

as dahlias.

Sigh.  This is so beautiful, and, of course, it brings to mind Georgia’s famous line about how it takes time to really see a flower just as to be a friend takes time.  All of this careful looking requires patience and fortitude, sometimes.  Thank you for reminding me of the tremendous gifts of doing so.  xox

our georgia. oh yes, who could ever look at flowers close up and not think of her and smile. sugar, your perspective and the way you string words and thoughts and feelings together always calms me and makes me smile with a sigh. thank you.
