one fine day

i’ve often wondered why some leaves hold on, refusing to let go of their branch, their tree. they clack in the wind, like teeth chattering or cleaning chalkboard erasers or ridding the bottom of shoes of debris from a long walk in the woods.

my birthday comes in 3 days. it’s a big birthday, and i’m making a list. noting things that won’t let go of me, things i’ve long vowed i’d do One Day. i add them to the list because One Day is here.

I just scratch my head and wonder why it took me so long to realize that every day is One Day.

I just don’t know why it took me this long to learn that every day is One Day.

Wondering why we wait for One Day to get here when it’s been here all along? Guess it takes awhile for wisdom to catch up with wild abandon. Or would that be the other way around? Anyway, I wish I could join in on the sure to be joyous celebration of the day you were born and the life you so generously share with the world. I think I can hear the angels warming up their halleluias right now. Let the partying begin!

Hold on…to what brings you joy,
Let go of what pisses you off
    and know love…
    in Abundance…
    🙂

Love this Jeanne, and like you, I have a ‘big’ birthday coming up in April. I’ve been looking at my life through this same filter, and letting go, reconfiguring, getting clear. It’s uncomfortable and necessary. Methinks this will call for a really great cake 🙂

Well, Sugar, since I’m celebrating all year long, how ’bout we party (read: shift, squirm, soar) (not necessarily in that order) together? xo

I think a big slice of cake will be in order. I’m glad that One Day has arrived. I hope to glean this brilliant wisdom from you and start my One Day today. We all should, shouldn’t we? <3
