DESCRIPTION:The Equity\, Access\, & Inclusion Conference is free and open to the public. To register\, go here. Jeanne is a presenter and will have several 70273 Project quilts on display. \nJeanne will be hosting a Block Drive – also free and open to the public – on 08 Nov 18 and 09 Nov 18. No registration\, no fee\, and no sewing skills required to attend the Block Drive. Just come by and bring your friends and family. Jeanne will provide everything you need to participate in this worldwide event and is available to answer your questions. \nFrom the University of Maine Student Accessibility website:\nAn organization that prioritizes access\, equity and inclusion creates an environment that respects and values individual difference. Inclusive organizations foster cultures that minimize bias\, promote access to programs and recognize and address systemic inequities\, which can create disadvantage for certain individuals. We seek knowledge and opportunities that allow persons of all abilities to engage in learning\, employment and enjoying life to the fullest. Our hope is that this conference provides the opportunity to bring the campus and surrounding community together to help promote the core values of equity\, access and inclusion. \nEstablished in 2005\, World Usability Day (WUD) is single day that occurs annually around the world and brings together communities of professional\, industrial\, educational\, citizen\, and government groups to promote the values of usability\, accessibility\, universal design for the common objective to ensure that the services and products important to life are easier to access and simpler to use. \nThe University of Maine\, Student Accessibility Services\, a department of the Division of Student Life\, with generous support from the Alton ’38 and Adelaide Hamm Campus Activity Fund is proud to host the conference “Equity\, Access and Inclusion.”  Working with partners at the University of Maine and beyond to offer presentations and workshops throughout the day.
